When Jesus Prays for Us
Scripture Reading: John 17: 20 - 26 (NIV)
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

Jesus prays for us?
It is a fascinating thought that Jesus prays for me!
Prayer brings connection - when someone prays for you, it connects you in a very special way
Today, we get to experience the connection we have with Jesus, as He prays for us
There is something mystical about this prayer of Jesus
Perhaps this prayer is not meant to be understood, but rather meant to be experienced?
Jesus prays for unity with God
Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity.
We find peace with God, when we are united with God
In unity with God, God will lead you through the challenges of life
Jesus prays that you will be united with God!
Jesus prays that we will receive the glory of God
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world
God shines his glory over the world like the sun
When the glory of God shines into our lives, we are impacted, we are moved, we start to grow
Jesus prays that you will receive God’s glory and that you will be changed by God’s glory
Jesus prays that we will know God
Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
God makes himself known through his Word and through creation
When we get to know God, more and more, we learn to recognize the image of God in us
When we get to know God, we get to live with knowledge of life that transcends logic and intellect
Jesus prays that we will know God beyond understanding
Receive the prayer of Jesus for you today
May you be united with God
May the glory of God shine on your life
And may you get to know God beyond understanding! Amen
